The boys of summer (as well as fall, winter and spring) enjoy playing America's favorite game... baseball. Or, in this case, softball.

The Scripps Ranch Old Pros sponsor a number of softball leagues year 'round in this beautiful community. We play a variation of slow-pitch called three-pitch. If you don't get a hit within three pitches you're out. However, we pitch to our own team. Before you say that's too easy you should realize that there are four outfielders and five infielders, not including the catcher.

Essentially we have two leagues going on an almost continuous basis on both Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m., and weeknights on generally either Wednesday or Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.

Finally, an Over 50 league is played around January thru April each year on Sundays and a March Madness Softball Tournament is played around the last two weeks of March. Watch for sign up sheets to be posted for both. Also this year for the first time we will host an Over 50 Night league to be played on Wednesday nights starting around the first of November and ending just prior to the spring night ball regular season in mid-February.

Space in all leagues is limited and there are times when not everyone can play. However, we attempt to provide an enjoyable experience to all those who participate, regardless of the skill level.

Scripps Ranch residents join the fun with the Old Pros in these social leagues making them among the best in San Diego. Take a look at the photos on any of the pages above.
